South Bucks Hospice
The South Bucks Hospice (SBH) provides care for people with cancer and non-curable diseases. The charity runs a hospice at Pusey House in High Wycombe and a Lymphoedema clinic in Hazlemere. The care and advice provided by the SBH staff gives much needed support to patients and families during distressing times. In order to extend their services, the SBH is looking to build a new hospice facility where they will be able to bring their services under one roof and offer a greater variety of services in one purpose built facility.
This is the first time that the Ricky Road Run has supported this very worthwhile cause and we hope that our work can help to make a difference for the hospice.

WaterAid is an international NGO dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world’s poorest people.
WaterAid believes that safe water, sanitation and improved hygiene are basic human rights that underpin health, education and livelihoods, forming the first essential step in overcoming poverty. Working with local partners, from individuals and families to local organisations, WaterAid provides skills and support to help communities set up and manage practical and sustainable projects that meet their real needs.
WaterAid also works locally and internationally to change policy and practice to ensure that water, hygiene and sanitation’s vital role in reducing poverty is recognised.
884 million people in the world today do not have access to safe water and 2.6 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation. As a result, 4000 children die every day from what is an entirely preventable public health crisis.
WaterAid has reached 14.38 million people with safe water since 1981 and 9.4 million people with sanitation since 2004. In 2010, WaterAid reached 940,000 people with safe water and 1.24 million people with sanitation.
The proceeds from the Ricky Road Run will be used to support WaterAid’s Maji Programme – providing safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to 12 regions in Tanzania, improving the health and quality of life of over 63,000 people.
We're very proud to be supporting WaterAid and their work in Africa in 2011. We would like to congratulate WaterAid on 30 fantastic years working towards bringing clean water to people around the world and hope that we can be there to support them for 30 more years!
