The course has changed this year due to concerns for runner safety!

After discussions with the council it has been decided that in order for the Ricky Road Run to continue long term then a change to the race route was needed. This was mainly due to concerns for runner and public safety regarding the busy stretch of the A404.

A new course has been designed (click here to view) with the aim of keeping it as close to the original course as possible. The new course is 9.5 Miles with some varied gradient, ranging from flat to small sections of steep incline.

As this is a new route there will be marshals on each corner to give directions, as well as sign posts, but we do ask that you give extra caution when on the roads. There is a section where runners are likely to be going in both directions (burtons lane), the road will be separated into lanes, but again we ask for your cooperation.

Finally we apologise for having to change a long standing route that has provided many successful races. However, in the interest of keeping the event running this was a necessary change.

Welcome to this year’s Ricky Road Run!

Once again it’s that time of year when runners descend on Rickmansworth to complete the 8.85 mile course. Last year’s event was a huge success and saw over 500 runners take part with the event being won by Jack Parslow of Dacorum & Tring Athletics Club in a time of 48mins 59secs. Thanks to the funds donated by the event's sponsors and by sponsorships collected by our individual runners, a total of £35,000 was raised for selected charities!

With your help, we hope that this year’s event will continue to build on previous successes. Please keep up to date with latest developments in the ‘Latest news’ section of the site.
